About Jay Peluso

Mr. Peluso is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. He started his legal career as an intern with the Rhode Island Attorney General in 1995 but decided he wanted to defend the rights of others as he moved to the Richmond, Va. Public Defender's office in 1997. After three years of fighting for those who could not afford legal counsel and honing his skills as a trial lawyer, Mr. Peluso accepted an offer with Parcell, Webb & Wallerstien, P.C. to practice in the private sector and expand his practice area to include family law and traffic defense. Subsequent to being named to Virginia Business Magazine's "Legal Elite" in his areas of concentration, Mr. Peluso started the firm of Jay R. Peluso, P.C. in 2006.

Mr. Peluso is licensed to practice in Federal Courts of the Fourth Circuit as well as all State Courts of Virginia and Rhode Island. He is a member of the Criminal Law and Family Law sections of the Virginia State Bar.

Mr. Peluso is also an active member of the Richmond Triathlon Club serving a five-year term as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Non-Profit Corporation and currently serves as counsel, race director and its registered agent.
